How Hill is situated in the heart of the Norfolk Broads National Park and provides a unique opportunity for children to experience this amazing and ecologically important area. We have an incredible site offering a variety of habitats for study, including dry and carr woodland, reedbed and grazing marsh, drainage dykes, the river Ant and Cromes Broad.

Freshwater Ecology Centre

We have fantastic facilities including our Freshwater Ecology Centre with a studio and laboratory; a beautiful thatched building on our private field for day visits and two boats for visiting Barton Broad, Turf Fen Mill and the marshes.

How Hill has been awarded the ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ quality badge – which combines learning and safety into an accreditation scheme, making it easier for staff to take students on educational visits. More info here:

All our activities are linked to the national curriculum and we can tailor a programme to suit your needs. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff aim to provide an enjoyable educational experience which children will remember forever.
