About How Hill
The How Hill Trust
The How Hill estate is run by the How Hill Trust. We are a charity set up in 1984 to look after this amazing historic house and the surrounding grounds and countryside.
We are a non profit organisation, everything we earn goes back into the house and our educational programs. The trust is managed by our trustees, all of who give up their time and expertise freely, and continues only with the help and dedication of our amazing staff.
Supporting Us
We rely mainly on income generated through our educational programs, events, and venue hire bookings to keep How Hill running for the benefit of our visitors. But, like most charities, we also need a little help from you, the public.
There are a number of ways you can help support How Hill and our educational programs which are dedicated to teaching children and adults about local history and ecology.

Testimonials
We love How Hill – but we are biased. So don’t just take our word for it. Here’s some of the praise we have received from visitors.
"I'm not sure where to start with thanking you and your whole team for such an amazing weekend for our choir.
The weekend thoroughly surpassed our expectations to be honest - we felt so well looked after - great facilities which were just perfect for the number of people we had, and for singing. Everyone has commented on how wonderful they thought it was - lovely accommodation and the joy of being so close to nature. We all felt like we were on holiday and have come back to earth with a bit of a bump today!
Can you please extend a very special thank you to Donna and everyone that helped to provide such beautiful food for us during our stay. We had the privilege of giving them a little mini concert on the final day of some things we'd been practising and it was lovely to see their reactions and be able to share the joy of what we love doing."

"I wanted to write and thank all at How Hill House for the excellent course on local churches which I attended last week. I found it a most interesting and informative few days, seamlessly organised, with carefully chosen speakers, superb food and good company.
I would be most grateful if you would pass on my commendation and thanks to Simon, all the staff and the Trust members. I look forward to attending another course in the future."

"A huge thank you from all of us for a lovely time at How Hill yesterday from Peter's fascinating talk (I will be writing to him), the delicious lunch and for arranging for the rain to be a light shower during lunch!
So many people had not only never been there but had no idea of its existence; I heard quite a few saying "I'm coming again". I understand that a number of people visited Hathor and were delighted to see inside whilst others joined me in exploring the lovely gardens."
